At the site, the Italian Red Cross deployed significant resources to try and help those missing: rescue teams; dog units; ambulances; logistics personnel, etc. A total of 450 volunteers were mobilised during the operations.

The Italian Red Cross also provided emergency help to shocked survivors to respond to their basic needs: distribution of essential goods (meals, hygiene products, clothing); healthcare services; first aid; Restoring Family Links programme to search for missing family members; psychosocial support for victims at the airport, hospital and morgue; leisure centre to accommodate children affected by the earthquake.

In such emergencies, humanitarian organisations must respond quickly and effectively: this is why the Rescue & Recover Fund supports its partner associations. Thanks to the support of all, the Italian Red Cross volunteers were able to work on site day and night to help the earthquake victims.
