The Board of Directors is the body that takes the decisions about using the Rescue & Recover Fund for an acknowledged humanitarian catastrophe. For this purpose, it is composed of its permanent representatives and an independent expert who is not a member of the partner associations.

Origin

In 2012, the very strong demonstration of solidarity by BNP Paribas employees during the natural disasters in Haiti and Japan prompted our various business lines to create an innovative solidarity vehicle. The Rescue & Recover Fund, supported by its founding members, BNP Paribas SA, BNP Paribas Personal Finance, BNP Paribas Fortis, BNP Paribas Cardif and BNP Paribas (Switzerland) SA, promotes mutual assistance, encourages collective engagement and creates links between the corporate world, emergency humanitarian aid and sustainable development.

Expertise

The Rescue & Recover Fund has an independent expert in Marc Sabbé, Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University Hospital of Leuven. He ensures the impartiality and effectiveness of the actions of the Rescue & Recover Fund, as well as the good management of the funds allocated.
