A 1st team of the French Red Cross had flown on November 15, 2013, with three and a half tons of equipment. On site, teams from the Philippine and French Red Cross worked together. The French Red Cross has distributed more than 99,000 emergency kits (hygiene kits, blankets, tents, mosquito nets, etc.) and is working to build safer homes to prevent future disasters. Tool kits to repair the affected homes were also distributed and 500 semi-permanent houses were built. The French Red Cross' action in the Philippines is expected to last until the end of 2015.
